Nitriding N Low Alloy Steel

Nitriding N is an AOD + VAR low alloy nitriding steel.  This alloy can be age hardened to very high strengths while providing very high surface hardness through nitriding.  This grade is vacuum remelted (VAR) to improve microcleanliness giving the alloy improved fatigue strength.  It is often used as gears in the rotorcraft industry.
