Grade D2 Tool Steel
D2 is an AOD melted cold work, high carbon, high chromium tool steel with excellent hardenability. It has excellent wear resistance better than both A and O series tool steels. This material hardens with an air cool allowing minimal dimensional issues after heat treatment. The deep hardening of this alloy lends itself to long wear resistant applications such as forming dies and blanking. Universal Stainless rolls this product on a 4HI reversing blooming mill into plate product.
