Basic Function

Develop, implement, administer and improve the Quality System for plant operations, subcontractors and vendors to assure that incoming material, supplied services and final products shipped exceed customer requirements


  • Maintain Quality System and associated certifications to specified standard(s).
  • Provide training as needed to support quality objectives.
  • Perform internal audits, supplier audits/evaluations; provide input to management reviews.
  • Evaluate non-conformances and customer returns for trends and appropriate corrective actions.
  • Provide inter-departmental support; coordinate outside QA audits/surveys.
  • Provide input into receiving inspection, in-process inspection, final inspection and calibration control system.


  • 10 years of previous Quality Management experience (ISO 9001, AS 9100, NADCAP) in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities in quality areas (prefer experience in quality auditing, steelmaking and project management)
  • Computer knowledge and proficiency.


General Foreman - Melt Shop

Education and Experience:

The General Foreman-Melt Shop will manage the day to day activites of the Melt Shop in a safe and cost effective manner, balancing supervisory and administrative duties for compliance with budgetary and human resource requirements and coordination of operations and maintenance activity.

Specific primary responsibilities are defined by the following, but those listed are not all-inclusive:

  • Support Melt Shop Manager and fill in as necessary
  • Lead, motivate, manage and direct Supervisors, Melters and hourly staff
  • Ensure compliance with Safety & Health, Environmental and Quality Policies
  • Manage, control and coordinate manpower schedules and work assignments
  • Secure and deploy resources to support Melt Shop
  • Plan, execute and monitor work
  • Make decisions, solve problems
  • Plan and coordinate production schedules to meet "melt on time" requirements
  • Plan and coordinate all operations throughout the melt shop including raw materials through "next operation", maintenance and refractories

Education and Experience:

Seeking a General Manager to direct the Bridgeville, PA specialty steelmaking operations,including EAF furnace, remelt furnaces, rolling mill and finishing operations.  The successful candidate should have 10+ years of progressive growth in the metals industry including 5 years of operations management.  Will be responsible for the overall production and quality of product, maintenance and the safety of plant and employees.  The candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Materials Science or other related discipline, and have experience in lean manufacturing/continuous improvement initiatives.

Maintenance Electrician

Location(s): Bridgeville, PA

Must have Journeyman Electrician certification or equivalent. Successful candidate must have the ability to read electrical schematics, troubleshoot AC/DC circuits, working knowledge of electrical switchgear and experience in working with electronic equipment and voltages up to 2300. Previous experience with tuning furnaces and combustion equipment in a steel-related environment is a plus.

Must have Journeyman Millwright certification or equivalent. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, the installation, perform welding, maintenance and repair of mechnical and hydraulic equipment throughout the facility. Must be able to read and interpret blue prints. Previous Millwright experience in a steel-related environment is a plus.

Production Workers

Location(s): Bridgeville, PA

Individuals must be able to withstand temperature variations and physical labor to support the process. Previous steel mill or industrial experience preferred. Must be able to work rotating shifts and weekends. Starting rate is $12.00/hour, plus profit sharing.

Specialty steel manufacturer is in need of Journeyman Machinists.  Successful candidate must be able to machine parts utilizing conventional machine tools, perform welding, disassemble, assemble, and provide general preventative maintenance on all types of mill equipment.  Must be able to read and interpret blue prints.  Previous machining experience in a maintenance machine shop environment is required.  Journeyman Machinist required.  $16.50/hr, profit sharing, excellent benefit package.

Process Metallurgist

Location(s): Dunkirk, NY

BS in Metallurgy or Material Science/Engineering is required with 2+ years metallurgical experience in primary metals industry.  Responsibilities will include analyzing standard production procedures, optimizing product yields, providing technical support for the sales and operations department and maintaining product quality. Position is hands on and plant based, including supervision of lab/testing functions.  Strong analytical, communication and computer skills are essential.  Work in a dynamic and unique environment. Process Metallurgist

Location(s): Bridgeville, PA

Job responsibilites:

  • Develop and improve manufacturing plans, processes and procedures
  • Analyze rejects and non-conforming product to determine root cause and corrective actions
  • Develop new product lines
  • Review claims and material specifications
  • Customer technical service and support
  • Review test plans and results for product acceptability
  • Conduct experiments for cost, yield and quality improvements.

B.S. in Metallurgy or Materials Science.  Must have strong background in ferrous physical metallurgy.  Five years minimum experience in a steel mill environment.

Strong computer and data analysis skills

Ability to communicate well with both technical and non-technical people

Staff Metallurgist

Location(s): Bridgeville, PA

B.S. Material Science and Engineering or Metallurgy.  Metallurgist experience in a steel mill environment; minimum 2 years in process metallurgy or similar role.  The successful candidate will plan, guide and lead projects and initiatives to improve product quality and process results.  Strong analytical, statistical and communication skills; problem solving and performance improvement.
